Hudson Eye Physicians & Surgeons, provides a full suite of vision care services. We are proud to serve Northern New Jersey with comprehensive adult and pediatric ophthalmology, as well as optometry services, including comprehensive eye exams, disease-specific treatments for glaucoma and more, and surgery for cataracts and other eye issues. We can also help you with contact lenses and eye glasses.

Our history
Hudson Eye Physicians & Surgeons, LLC, evolved from the practice of Alfonse A. Cinotti, M.D. Dr. Cinotti began his practice in a small office on Beach Street in the Heights section of Jersey City in 1950. He later moved his office to the Seton Hall Medical School, located at Jersey City Medical Center, where he became chief of the Department of Ophthalmology.
In the late ’60s, UMDNJ was founded and the Seton Hall Medical School closed. Dr. Cinotti became chief of the Department of Ophthalmology while continuing in his busy Jersey City practice. In addition, he was a past president of the American Society of Ophthalmology. Dr. Cinotti retired in 1992, but still serves the community as an ophthalmologist at a clinic in Florida.
A growing vision care practice
The practice that Dr. Cinotti started continued to grow, and in 1974, Barry Maltzman, M.D., (retired) completed his residency and joined Dr. Cinotti in practice. The practice became known as Hudson Eye Physicians & Surgeons, LLC.
