Japanese-Restaurants

In July of 2013, Izakaya MEW opened in the bustling neighborhood of midtown Manhattan as the

first establishment to combine the flavors of traditional Japanese cuisine with the dynamic trends

of New York’s food culture. Under the supervision of a head chef from Japan, the team

developed a menu that would preserve the delicate flavors of Japanese cuisine while adding the

chef’s modernistic elements to create Japanese-style tapas that would suit a wide range of palates.

In designing the space with a vintage-industrial interior, they aimed to create a venue that promotes

a comfortable and lively pub-style atmosphere parallel to the izakaya found in Japan.
